This summary is here to help. The full text below is what governs.
These guidelines keep Artistry Boutique a place buyers trust and artists are proud to be part of. They’re simple, but they matter. Listings that don’t follow them may be edited or removed.
Everything you list must be created by you. That includes originals and prints of your own artwork. Please don’t list: – Work made by someone else – Copies or reproductions of other artists’ work – Images, characters, or designs you don’t have the rights to use
If you collaborate with another artist, say so in the listing.
Buyers can’t hold your piece before they buy, so your description is their window into it. Include: – Medium and materials: for example, oil on canvas or giclée print on archival paper – Exact dimensions, including whether the piece is framed – Edition type: original, limited edition (with the total number in the edition), or open edition – Available print sizes – Any flaws or variations, however small
Never relabel open-edition prints as limited, and never sell more copies than your stated edition size.
Mature work is welcome here. If your piece includes nudity, sexual themes, graphic violence, or other mature content, you must flag it as mature when you list it. Flagged work is blurred until a visitor chooses to see it. Sexually explicit content, any sexualised depiction of minors, and illegal content are never allowed, flagged or not. Not flagging mature work is a serious breach of these guidelines and may lead to your listing being removed or your account being suspended.
The “Indigenous-made” label is only for work made by an artist who is First Nations, Inuit or Métis, or Indigenous from elsewhere.
Your photos sell your work. Aim for: – Clear, well-lit photos that show true-to-life colours – At least 1500 px on the longest side – No heavy filters, watermarks across the artwork, or borders – Extra photos of details, texture, and edges, plus one showing the piece on a wall for scale if you can
You ship directly to your buyers, so their experience depends on you: – Set accurate shipping rates and zones for Canada, the US, and worldwide – Clearly state your processing time, and ship within it – Pack carefully. Use corner protectors, rigid backing, and protective wrap for prints, and double-box fragile originals. – Always ship with tracking and add the tracking number to the order. Ship within your stated processing time. – Post your return policy clearly on your shop
Buyers may message you with questions or to hire you for commissions and other services. Please: – Reply within 2 business days – Be friendly and professional, even when you’re saying no – Agree on the scope, price, timeline, and payment for any commission in writing before you start
You’re welcome to sell and take commissions anywhere, including by email. If a buyer first reached you through an Artistry Boutique listing or message, please complete that specific purchase through the site. Later or unrelated work with them is up to you.
Buyers can review you after a purchase. Honest feedback helps everyone. Please don’t offer incentives for reviews or ask buyers to change negative reviews. If a review breaks our rules, contact us at hello@artistryboutique.com.
